Passion Is Overrated

All must have, at one point of time, referred to self help books and 

motivational authors. Every one of them tells you t find a passion in life and 

follow it blindly.Then as we grow up, work load increases, responsibilities do 

as well, and then we are asked to make money and drop all the expectation, 

to support ourselves and have a comfortable lifestyle.

                                        Someone gave me a very good advice a few days 

back,' If you do one thing as an amateur and love it, it doesn't mean that you 

will survive in it as a profession'. So I guess the notion of finding passion is 

over hyped and no one should blindly follow people's advice and figure out 

their own interests, generate skills and work hard. At the same time be 

smart and never forget to explore and take risks. Sometimes you don't have 

options and follow the wrong path but the world doesn't end there. The most 

important thing which must be taught to students and youngsters is to 

accumulate knowledge before jumping into anything professionally or 

academically and learn to critically analyze situations to get the best out of 

every experience.
