Passion Is Overrated

All must have, at one point of time, referred to self help books and

motivational authors. Every one of them tells you t find a passion in life and

follow it blindly. Then as we grow up, work load increases, responsibilities do

as well, and then we are asked to make money and drop all the expectation,

to support ourselves and have a comfortable lifestyle.

Someone gave me a very good advice a few days

back,' If you do one thing as an amateur and love it, it doesn't mean that you

will survive in it as a profession'. So I guess the notion of finding passion is

over hyped and no one should blindly follow people's advice and figure out

their own interests, generate skills and work hard. At the same time be

smart and never forget to explore and take risks. Sometimes you don't have

options and follow the wrong path but the world doesn't end there. The most

important thing which must be taught to students and youngsters is to

accumulate knowledge before jumping into anything professionally or

academically and learn to critically analyze situations to get the best out of

every experience.

Minimalism in Interiors

Being new to the whole interior designing and decorating scene, I

personally find it very hard to put furniture and accessories in a small space.

Maybe I'm not fit for designing or I just don't like clutter. Putting loads of

textures, false ceiling that looks weird and so complicated and even lots of

colors and accesories is just not my style.

It's an ongoing battle inside my head when it

comes to placement and design. I just can't imagine myself or anyone in a

space which looks like either you earn too much or you are just insane.

So I fully support the minimalist style and follow it like a child running after

candy. But some people have the opinion that if you are a designer then it's

your job to put everything they need or don't need in their houses or work

places just to look rich.

I for one need lots of space and minimum furniture

and accessories because I want to breathe freely even indoors. The four walls

are enough to make you feel claustrophobic, so I am a minimalist in life as

well as in style. Who needs a compact space when your thoughts and life is

complex enough to suffocate you from the inside ? We all have an intrinsic

need to connect with nature somehow, to free our minds and to relax

whenever possible, so why not make our homes and offices to look and feel

closer to nature? It saves your money, time to clean and so much trouble for

shopping and decision making. PEACE!
